Relieve and promote healing of superficial burns - Urgo

The URGO Waterproof Burns dressing is intended for the treatment burns of 1st degree and 2nd degree superficial (blister) as well as superficial injuries (abrasions, cuts).

Its tulle contains lipidocolloid technology (TLC), a unique combination of hydrocolloid particles and petroleum jelly. This formula relieves the pain and promotes there healing . In addition, the dressing does not adhere to the wound and allows for painless removal .

Method of application :

In the case of a burn: immediately place the burn under cold (but not ice-cold) water and hold it there for 15 minutes to limit the spread of the burn. If a blister forms, do not pierce it.

In all cases:
1. Clean your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Clean the wound with water or saline solution. Disinfect the wound and its surrounding area with an alcohol-free antiseptic solution; in the case of a burn, never use colored antiseptics such as eosin. Rinse with water or saline solution.
2. Using a sterile compress, carefully dry the lesion and its surroundings. Stop any bleeding by applying pressure.
3. Open the sachet and remove the dressing. The dressing should be used immediately after opening the sachet.
4. When applying the dressing, be careful not to touch the adhesive part with your fingers and make sure to center the compress (white part) on the lesion:
– Remove the first protective flap; apply while smoothing the dressing towards the edges: to avoid creating folds and tension on the skin and on the dressing.
– Remove the 2nd fin using the same procedure.

Frequency of change:

Reapply as directed after 24 hours and then every 48 hours until healing. Also reapply:
– If the compress seems damp after showering
– If the compress is saturated with blood or exudates

Removing the dressing : Remove carefully.
If any gel remains on the wound after removing the dressing, rinse it off with water.

Storage conditions: Store away from light.
Precautions for use :

– Reserved for the treatment of localized superficial wounds, the size of which does not exceed the format of a compress. On burns, the compress must extend well beyond the burn to allow absorption of exudates (the size of the compress, white part of the dressing, must be at least twice the size of the burn).
– In the event of foreign bodies in the wound, significant bleeding, bites, stings with a sharp and/or dirty object or if you do not notice any improvement in healing after 6 days, consult your pharmacist or doctor.
– For any burn in children, ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice.
– In the presence of clinical signs of local infection (heat, redness extending to uninjured skin, pain, purulent secretion, swelling, etc.), consult your pharmacist or doctor.
– Ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice before applying the dressing to the face, for aesthetic reasons.
– People with diabetes should only use hydrocolloid dressings under medical or nursing supervision.

Warning:

– Reusing a single-use product may cause risks of infection.
– Check the integrity of the individual sachet which ensures the sterility of the product before use.
– The adhesiveness of the dressing may be reduced by the presence of hair, greasy products (creams, etc.) or on joint areas with significant mobility.
– Do not use if packaging is damaged.
– Not suitable for bathing.

Contraindications:

– Do not use in case of deep 2nd degree or 3rd degree burns. In these cases, a medical consultation is mandatory.
– Do not apply to mucous membranes.
– Do not use to cover or secure/hold a device.
– Contraindicated for arteritic foot.
– Contraindicated for infected diabetic foot.
– Do not use for more than 30 consecutive days.
