Epithelium 26 ® EPITACT silicone gel plate
This material is the subject of a patent: “The Substitute for the plantar pad”. It reproduces the mechanical (viscoelastic) properties of the healthy human plantar pad.
- Its thickness of 2.2 mm is sufficient to effectively distribute loads without creating instabilities.
- Its long lifespan allows integration into orthotics (several months).
- Low loss of thickness and mechanical characteristics over time compared to foam.
- Covered with fabric on both sides, Epithelium 26 ® is easy to use (cutting with scissors, Neoprene ® bonding or iron-on bonding).
DESCRIPTION
Plate made of a 2.2mm thick pressure-distributing silicone gel embedded between two polyamide/elastane fabrics.
USE
Pressure distribution material to be integrated into plantar orthoses (cannot be sanded).
BENEFITS
Plates made of EPITHELIUM 26® are biocompatible non-adhesive silicone gel devices doubly bonded to tissue. They are soft and elastic. EPITHELIUM 26® is presented as a resistant gel, which distributes plantar pressure mainly under the forefoot.
This silicone gel does not lose its mechanical properties over time.
IMPLEMENTATION
- Cut the module into the desired shape by beveling the edges using scissors.
- Glue it to the desired area of your foot orthosis with neoprene glue or by heat-sealing on resin.
- Apply your covering to the sole.
COMPOSITION
84% silicone, 16% polyamide/elastane fabric.
INTERVIEW
The material is machine washable at 30°C.
